It’s not out of my system, the need to inject some neon into my dining room. I have blue-black walls that are the perfect background for a neon sign, but cannot get the support of the co-owner of my house. James has a 50/50 chance of coming home to a custom neon beauty when he returns from a camping trip in August.
But a more moderate (and friendly) approach might be to start with a mere chair or two around our dining room table. How to choose? I love the idea of a set of mutli-coloured neon Jake chairs, though I happen to know these acrylic chairs (from Design Within Reach, I think?) are very comfortable. The electric lines of this Acapulco chair and those uniquely designed neon wire chairs are contenders but their airy look makes me long for them in our backyard (or the chicest-ever backyard of my dreams). I realize neon is too in, that this is a fad destined to burn out in a hot-pink blaze, but this is no crush for me. These chairs are the perfect piece for my dining room.
